Asandi Conner


Asandi Conner is a native Detroiter who seeks out opportunities to engage with organizations that uplift her city. With more than 15 years of experience, she has successfully developed and implemented projects and organizational strategies at four impact organizations across metropolitan Detroit, including the YMCA, St. John Providence Health and Matrix Human Services. As the Interim Director, Asandi collaborates with diverse stakeholders to build a network of doers focused on Detroit's revitalization. She began her undergraduate studies as a journalism student at Wayne State University and later transferred to the University of Phoenix where she received a bachelor's degree in business management.  She earned a Master of Public Administration degree in nonprofit leadership from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Asandi currently serves on the board of Teen HYPE and the University of Michigan-Dearborn's African American Alumni Affiliate.  This eastside resident is a diehard Detroit Lions fan who enjoys watching Law & Order franchise marathons and listening to house music.


Emily Miller

Strategy Leader

As the Fellows' Experience Manager for the Detroit Revitalization Fellows, Emily curates an interdisciplinary and inclusive two-year leadership development program for the Fellows.  A graduate of Beloit College, she started her career as an English professor in China before advocating for housing justice issues at a low-income tenants' rights organization in Chicago.  After Chicago, Emily co-directed a study abroad program in Brussels, Belgium, for US university students and eventually returned to Michigan to work for the Detroit Revitalization Fellows.



Meredith Reynolds

Engagement Specialist

As the Engagement Specialist for the Detroit Revitalization Fellows, Meredith works on capacity building, marketing & communications, and project management for the program. A graduate of Michigan State University, she started her career by working to advance public policy initiatives for nonprofits statewide at the Michigan Nonprofit Association. After this, she oversaw fundraising at AIDS Walk Detroit, raising over $195,000 to fund HIV awareness, prevention and education efforts across metro Detroit. Meredith also served as an account manager for Digerati, a triple-bottom-line IT company located in downtown Detroit that utilizes technology to address talent retention in Michigan.


Latina Black

Fellows' Experience Manager

As the Fellows' Experience Manager for the Detroit Revitalization Fellows, Latina works on leadership development and programing, conducting extensive research on local and national trends in urban development and collaborating with staff to support the design and implementation of the Fellowship's monthly initiatives. Earning her MBA in marketing from Florida A&M University, Latina has forged a career of experiences working in corporate marketing, sales and customer service. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Urban Planning at Wayne State University where she hopes to gain the proficiency needed to bridge the gaps that exists among Detroit's economic, civic and political landscapes.
